Course Description:

This course provides an introduction to clinical nutrition, the structure and function of the human body, exercise and diet, energy balance, and how to regulate body weight, energy consumption, components of energy consumption, dietary consumption pattern, energy absorption, energy value in water and food, usage of energy units, measurement of energy consumption, metabolic rate in organs and tissues, rate of physical activity, heart rate, hunger and satiety, control of food intake, satiety and hunger control centres in the brain, digestive system signals, and satiety signals present in the external environment.
